Pitbull Puppies Barking At The Moon
Pitbull puppies like all puppies have a tendency to bark at night. There are many reasons why your puppy barks, but what ever the reason as an owner the only thing that matters is getting the puppy to stop. Excessive barking can cause a wide range problems from keeping you up at night to causing problems with the neighbors and possibly eventually with the police. Lets face it nobody likes a barking dog.
There are many solutions to getting your puppy to stop barking, but not all solutions will work with all pitbull puppies. So lets dive right in and talk about some of the more common problems that could lead to excessive barking at night.
Lack of Attention
On thing that can lead to pitbull puppies barking is a lack of attention during the day. If you are away from home for long hours at a time as lot of people are now days. Your puppy could be suffering from lack of attention and is using barking as a way to get that attention. Pitbulls have as with all dogs have a high need for love and attention from their owners, so setting aside a little time with you puppy each day might help reduce the excessive barking at night. Also you can try letting them sleep in the same room as you do. This might give them a better sense of security and make them feel closer to you.
Lack of Exercise and Boredom
Lack of exercise and boredom have been know to contribute to excessive barking at night. Pitbulls as a breed have a high energy level, and pitbull puppies are even worse. All this energy has a tendency to build up through out the day and if there is no way of releasing this stored up energy you pitbull puppy might use barking as a way of releasing the pressure.
The best way to go about fixing this is to make sure you that pitbull puppy has plenty of exercise every day. Going for a daily walk is good, but it might not be enough to burn off all that built up energy. I would recommend at least fifteen minutes of good exercise a day. Make it something fun like chasing a ball or frisbee, something that will really get your puppy moving. This should considerably help to calm down your puppy and give you a little bit of relief with the barking problem.
Also you should make sure that your puppy has plenty of toys to occupy their time with. This will also help them to release some of that built up energy and cure any barking problems that occur because of boredom. For the most part pitbull puppies that bark at night can be cured by doing a few simple things.
