Choosing pitbull puppies can often be a difficult choice with all the different breed characteristics, but before you do get your new puppy you need to make sure that it is the right puppy for you. You should at least do some basic research on the internet. Find out the history of the breed so that there will not be any surprise down the road. You need to learn about the behavior traits and personality characteristics of pitbull puppies and dogs. By just doing this basic research you will be able to tell if a pitbull puppy is the right choice for you and your family.

So after doing a little research you have decided that owning a pitbull puppy is for you, now the fun part begins. You need to decide whether you want to own a male or female, and where you are going to purchase your new pitbull puppy from. I know there are a lot of people out there that buy their new puppies from pet stores, but with pitbull puppies I wouldn’t recommend this method.

I would recommend that you buy your new dog from an established reputable pitbull breeder. There are many breeders out there, especially on the internet, but I think I would check with the American Pit Bill Terrier Club to find out who is the best within my area first. Just by talking with some of their members, you should be able to get information on different breeders, and their opinions on who is the best to purchase from. They should also be a good source of information not only on the best breeder to purchase from, but will probably be able to give you some general tips about raising a pitbull puppy as well.

You can also find breeder listings in dog magazines, the local newspaper, and the internet. All of these sources can aid you in finding the perfect puppy just remember to do you research first. Remember to check out and interview several breeders so that you can compare them and make the best purchase. You shouldn’t just make you decision by who has the cheapest puppy. You should find out how long they have been breeding for, what kind of conditions the puppies are kept in, how they are fed, what kind of contact they have with other dogs and people, and how they are cared for in general.
