Pitbull Puppies And Common Urination Problems
House breaking a new puppy can be a daunting task with the occasional accident here and there, but what if your puppies urination problem has nothing to do with being house broken? There are several different problems that are common with all puppies and pitbull puppies are no different.
To address these problems we have to first define what the problem is before we can find a solution to the problem. The two most common problems that we are going to talk about are excitement and submissive urination and hopefully by time you finish reading this you will be able to identify and fix these common problems.
Submissive Urination
Submissive Urination shouldn’t be confused with a potty training problem. You can be identify Submissive Urination by if your pitbull puppy has a tendency to squat and urinate whenever you approach it. Pitbull puppies can have a tendency to do this because of an insecurity that they have. This insecurity along with the puppies tendency to squat and urinate often occurs when a dog is scared or feels intimidated when being approached by an individual.
The way to solve your pitbull puppies submissive urination problem you need to calmly approach your puppy and crouch down so that you are not so intimidating. If you puppy begins to get scared and show signs of getting ready to urinate again, try offering your puppy a treat or a toy every time he gets like this. This will help to take his focus off of whatever is causing the problem and eventually ease your puppies fears.
Excitement Urination
Another common puppy problem is their difficulty controlling their bladder when they get excited. If your puppy has this problem it is nothing to worry about most of the time they grow out of this as their bladder control strengthens with age.
Both excitement and submissive urination problems can be solved if you show a little patience and love with your new pitbull puppy and also take the time to work with him. Remember though to never scold or hit your puppy if he has one of these conditions for it has a tendency to worsen the situation. Remember just a little love and patience and every thing will turn out fine.
